Santo Domingo.- After over a decade of dedicated service to the Dominican Association of Tourist Press (ADOMPRETUR), journalist Yenny Polanco Lovera has announced the close of a significant chapter in her professional life and revealed her next major international challenge: running for the presidency of the Ibero-American Forum of Tourism Journalists (FIPETUR).
Reflecting on her extensive time at ADOMPRETUR, Polanco Lovera stated, “They were ten years of dedication and growth.” She recounted starting as a director and progressing through various roles to eventually lead the organization as president. During her presidency, she noted their efforts to “boost the organization’s visibility, create our website, and consolidate an ethical and professional community.”
With palpable enthusiasm and a clear vision, she is now preparing to represent the Dominican Republic on this new international platform. FIPETUR unites tourism journalists from across Ibero-America. Polanco Lovera is forming an international slate for her presidential bid, including colleagues from Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, and Argentina.
She expressed her strong desire for the country’s renewed presence on the international stage, stating her goal is for “the Dominican Republic to once again play a prominent role in FIPETUR.” She remains steadfast in her commitment to promoting the sector, affirming, “I feel committed to continue promoting tourism through ethical and professional journalism.”
In a personal note shared during the announcement, Polanco Lovera also mentioned her upcoming trip to Canada to attend her daughter’s graduation, highlighting it as a very special occasion filled with joy and pride.
Parallel to her guild activities, Polanco Lovera continues to produce her popular television program, “Fiestas y Personalidades.” The show is celebrating 20 years of uninterrupted broadcast and is recognized for its quality, perseverance, and dedication to promoting culture and tourism.
Reiterating her commitment to the journalistic profession and supporting future generations, she added, “My commitment remains intact. I will continue supporting new generations so they understand the value of practicing ethical journalism with purpose.”
Through these moves, Polanco Lovera reaffirms her dedication to industry associations and her role as an advocate for responsible tourism, value-driven communication, and the continued development of specialized press in the Dominican Republic and globally.
