First Colombian team (José& Francisco Arata, Abbas Jafarian, Juan Pablo Montejo) to reach the South Pole skiing. A very demanding physical test for the leaders (not professional athletes), all with the purpose of generating an ecological awareness about the importance of care and respect for the environment.

Mr. Arata, who is part of Puntacana Resort & Club's community, is representing one of the projects led by Grupo Puntacana Foundation: "Transforming Local Fishermen Into Coral Gardeners". This project consists in providing alternative income opportunities for local fishermen and expanding our coral reef restoration activities. With increased resources, we will be able to expand our restoration efforts in the Punta Cana region and then share our expertise with other tourism destinations and countries, providing training and research opportunities for students.
