Punta Cana.- Punta Cana International Airport has been named one of the 10 most improved airports in the world for 2025 by Skytrax, the global authority on airport quality. Ranked eighth overall, it is the only airport in Latin America and the Caribbean to make the prestigious list, highlighting its efforts to enhance infrastructure, technology, and passenger services.

Skytrax’s recognition is based on millions of traveler reviews and comprehensive audits that evaluate everything from wait times and cleanliness to security efficiency and signage. Punta Cana’s recent upgrades include terminal expansions, enhanced migration and customs procedures, self-service check-in kiosks, new dining and VIP areas, and expanded international flight connections—positioning the airport as a leading hub in the region.

In addition to this global accolade, Punta Cana Airport was also ranked the third-best regional airport in Central America and the Caribbean, following Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaría and Panama’s Tocumen airports. The recognition underscores the Dominican Republic’s growing influence in air travel and tourism infrastructure across the region.
