Puerto Plata – The Puerto Plata Destination Tourism Cluster (CTDPP) expresses its full support for the Dominican Government’s actions to recover and reorganize Sosua Beach. It understands that these measures are essential to preserving natural resources, revitalizing tourism, and promoting sustainable development to benefit local communities and visitors.

The institution recognizes and values the government’s investment and the inter-institutional collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, SENPA, URBE, Mitur, the National Navy, the National Police, Politur, and the Mayor’s Office of SosĂșa.

With the interventions, it seeks to rescue an emblematic tourism space and guarantee this resource’s protection for future generations.

On behalf of its board, Birgitt Heinsen, president of the institution, stated her position, expressing that “the implementation of this project will ensure not only adequate use of the beach but also create safe and familiar environments for residents and tourists, boosting the local economy. Therefore, from the Cluster we strongly support this type of initiative and we call on the local authorities to maintain order in the area and ensure that these measures are complied with permanently.”

In addition, she assured that “we are committed to remaining vigilant to ensure that the recovered spaces are used appropriately, respecting the purpose of preservation and development with which they were designed. Likewise, we urge the community to value and take care of this joint effort, recognizing that only with the cooperation of all will we be able to consolidate a renewed, sustainable, and welcoming Sosua for families and visitors.”

The Cluster reiterated its willingness to collaborate on everything necessary to ensure the success of this project and reaffirmed its commitment to conserving and developing our natural and tourist environment.
