Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic is set to welcome a record number of travelers during Easter and Spring Break 2025, with an estimated 3.62 million passengers passing through its airports in March and April. This marks a 5.8% increase from the previous year, reinforcing the country’s position as a top Caribbean tourist destination.
Héctor Porcella, president of the Civil Aviation Board, highlighted the United States as the leading source of visitors, followed by Canada, Europe, Mexico, and Brazil. Punta Cana International Airport is expected to see the highest traffic, with 1.085 million passengers in March alone, a 6% rise from 2024. Other major airports, including Las Américas, Cibao, and Puerto Plata, will also experience notable growth.
Authorities have implemented measures to ensure smooth operations, including enhanced security, improved flight coordination, and streamlined passenger processing. Travelers are advised to plan ahead and follow airport guidelines for a seamless experience.
