Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic is emerging as a key destination in Soltour’s strategic portfolio, driven by the company’s commitment to sustainable tourism. As the leading independent tour operator in Spain and Portugal, Soltour is prioritizing destinations that balance natural beauty, cultural richness, and environmental responsibility.

According to a recent Euromonitor International report, 73% of travelers say sustainability affects their travel choices, and 42% are willing to pay more for eco-friendly options. Soltour CEO Tomeu Bennasar highlighted the importance of investing in destinations like the Dominican Republic, which align with the growing demand for responsible travel.

Soltour’s portfolio includes destinations such as Madeira, Lanzarote, and Cuba, all of which promote eco-conscious development and local community engagement. The company is expanding its service to the Dominican Republic with direct flights from Madrid and Barcelona to Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Puerto Plata during summer and fall 2025, offering five weekly departures.
