Punta Cana.- The Dominican Republic officially inaugurated the 2025 edition of DATE (Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Minister of Tourism, accompanied by Asonahores President Juan Bancalari, Vice President Aguie Lendor, Vice Minister Tammy Reynoso, and Fernando Gómez, General Manager of the Barceló Group in the country.

The minister praised DATE as a vital platform for showcasing the Dominican Republic’s continued growth as a premier global destination. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting innovation, quality, and sustainability in tourism. This year’s event features a record number of international buyers, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, and specialized media, all seeking strategic partnerships with Dominican tourism providers.

Bancalari thanked the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) for its ongoing support, noting that DATE plays a key role in fostering new business opportunities. Lendor added that the event’s growth is evident in the 8,000 pre-scheduled business meetings, underlining its importance in boosting the country’s tourism industry.
