Punta Cana.- Avianca has announced the suspension of its Quito-Punta Cana route starting March 30, 2025, just four months after its inauguration in October 2024. The airline cited a strategic focus on high-demand routes as the reason for discontinuing the direct connection.
Passengers with reservations beyond this date will be rebooked on flights connecting through Bogotá. Avianca assured travelers that it will honor all commitments related to existing air transport contracts. The route, which operated twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, will now be available only via Bogotá for those traveling to Punta Cana.
